Food writer Diane Peterson (Brown Class of 1978) and winemaker Lise Pfau Ciolino (1985) host an afternoon of wine and food, pairing Sonoma County’s finest and freshest fare with Montemaggiore estate wines. Lise will lead a walk through the organic and biodynamic vineyards where she farms ten acres of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and cultivates eight hundred olive trees. Then you’ll enjoy a delectable summertime feast especially chosen and prepared by Diane from her favorite Sonoma County purveyors—all on the deck of the Ciolino’s private home, with spectacular views overlooking northern Sonoma County.

Please join proprietors Lise and Vincent Ciolino for a rare peek into our small, secluded country estate where we grow ten acres of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, cultivate eight hundred olive trees, tend farm animals, and raise our family. You’ll enjoy a summertime Italian feast on the deck of our private home, with spectacular views overlooking northern Sonoma County. A vertical tasting of our award-winning Syrahs, including Wine&Spirits’ “Top 10 Syrah” and Sonoma County’s “Best Syrah”, will be paired with family recipes showcasing the bounty of Sonoma County. Perhaps you’ll engage Montemaggiore’s winemaker (Lise) or winegrower (Vincent) in a conversation on starting a wine business, or perhaps you’ll play bocce in our terraced gardens, or indeed just sit back and enjoy the fabulous views, wines, and food. We invite Montemaggiore Wine Club members to help us celebrate a bountiful harvest with the 4th annual Vendemmia, held the last Saturday in October. Renowned paella chef Gerard Nebesky will once again create a delectable masterpiece before your eyes! And of course, this paella will be paired with Montemaggiore Syrahs and Cabernet/Syrah blends.
